Feature Tiles in Leicester
Statement wall tiles, patterned splashbacks and feature floors, from gloss metro to marble, geometric and sculptural ranges. On display at our Wigston and Thurmaston showrooms, with free samples and free local delivery across Leicestershire.
Overview
A single wall does the work.

Feature tiles are the range we point Leicester customers to when the rest of the room is going to stay quiet. A gloss green metro behind a bath, a painted floral pattern in a boot room or cloakroom, a geometric splashback in a kitchen, or a sculptural shaped tile across a whole living space, a good feature tile does the job of an entire scheme with one wall or floor.
Unlike a plain field tile that you buy by the square metre and forget about, a feature tile is a design decision. It sets the tone of a room, and because it usually covers only one surface, it is one of the highest-impact, lowest-commitment changes you can make to a space.

The Range, In Order
01
Gloss Metro
Havana Green
A deep gloss green metro, shown paired with a patterned encaustic-style floor. Gloss metros are the most versatile feature choice, working as a full wall or a narrower splashback, and reflecting light well in smaller rooms with limited natural light.
02
Marble, Geometric
Lalia Statuario
A marble effect tile printed in a triangular geometric layout, giving the impression of a patterned marble floor without the cost or maintenance of natural stone. Works well as a full wall and floor scheme in a contemporary bathroom.
03
Painted Pattern
Stellar Blue
A star motif painted pattern in soft blue and cream, shown filling an arched wall recess. Painted pattern tiles like this work best contained to a defined shape, an arch, a niche, or a single wall.
04
Sculptural, Shaped
Trace
A shaped tile that interlocks into a curved, almost woven pattern across the wall. The boldest of the ranges, suited to a living space or hallway wanting a genuine architectural moment rather than a subtle accent.
05
Painted Pattern
Zoey Flower
A softer floral painted pattern in blue and white. Pairs well against warm, plain toned furniture rather than other bold pattern or colour, which is why it reads calmly even at a reasonably large scale.
06
Geometric, Splashback
Tappe
A muted grey geometric pattern shown as a kitchen splashback behind a hob and worktop. A practical scale for splashback use, adding pattern without overwhelming a working kitchen wall.

02 / Choosing & Using
Getting a feature tile right
How much wall
One wall, kept quiet elsewhere
Most customers tile one wall in full, behind a bath, vanity or headboard, and keep the surrounding walls plain. A narrower border, an arch, or a niche works well if you want a subtler nod to pattern.
Suitability
Wall vs floor
Not every feature range is rated for floors. Sculptural and painted pattern tiles are usually wall only, while marble effect geometric ranges can often be used on both. Check the specific range with our team before assuming.
Pairing
Pattern with the rest of the room
Painted pattern tiles work best against plain, warm toned furniture rather than competing with other pattern or bold colour. Bring a photo of your space when you visit and our team can judge the balance against an actual sample.
Grout
Contrast or match
A contrasting grout emphasises the individual tile shape, particularly on sculptural ranges. A closely matched grout lets the overall pattern read as one continuous surface instead.
03 / Materials
Ceramic vs porcelain
| Factor | Ceramic | Porcelain |
|---|---|---|
| Bathroom walls | Excellent, the standard choice | Suitable but often unnecessary cost |
| Bathroom floors | Workable in low-moisture areas | Better, the standard for wet areas |
| Water resistance | Good | Very high, lower porosity |
| Durability | Good for typical use | Higher, better for heavy use |
| Large format availability | Limited | Wide, including slabs |
| Typical best use | Walls, splashbacks, features | Floors, wet rooms, large format |
04 / Coverage Calculator
Estimate your coverage
7.0 m²Estimated area including waste
An estimate only. Feature layouts like herringbone and shaped tiles create more waste, so a higher allowance (12-15%) is sensible. Our showroom team will confirm exact quantities against the specific tile and lay pattern you choose.

Expert Advice
“The mistake I see most often is people falling for a pattern online and ordering it for the wrong surface. Bring your measurements in and take a sample home, a bold tile that looks perfect on a screen can read completely differently on your own wall, in your own light. On a feature wall, keep everything around it plain and let the tile be the one thing doing the talking, and always order a bit extra so you have a spare from the same batch for years down the line.”

06 / Questions
Feature tiles, Leicester
Choosing a feature tile
A feature tile is one chosen for its colour, pattern, texture or shape to make a statement on a single area, a wall, splashback, niche or feature floor, rather than a plain field tile used across a whole surface.
Most customers tile one wall in full and keep the rest of the room plain. A narrower border, arch or niche works well for a subtler nod to pattern.
Some can, depending on the range and its floor rating. Marble effect and geometric porcelain ranges are more often floor suitable than painted pattern or sculptural shaped tiles. Check the specific range with our team.
Design & layout
A contrasting grout emphasises each tile shape (good for geometric and sculptural). A matching grout lets a pattern read as one surface (good for painted and marble effect). Choose it alongside the tile.
Keep everything around it quiet, plain paint, simple fittings, and contain the pattern to one defined area rather than several.
Buying & installation
Measure the width and height of the area and add a waste allowance, 10% for straight layouts, 12-15% for herringbone or shaped tiles. Use the calculator above and we will confirm exact quantities in-showroom.
Adhesive suited to the tile and substrate, grout in your chosen colour, spacers or a levelling system, trims for exposed edges, and silicone for internal corners. We stock all of these.
